Teens program
Not kids' stuff.
Their stuff.
Thirteen-to-fifteen-year-olds don't want to be entertained — they want to be trusted. The Teens program hands them real jobs: planning the Friday campfire, coaching junior circles, running the carnival booths and leading trail expeditions.
Days mix leadership workshops with serious adventure: the high ropes afternoon, the lake crossing paddle, the Thursday overnight. Teens leave with a reference letter, forty service hours and a crew of friends.
What's included
Leadership workshops
Conflict resolution, public speaking and event planning — taught through running actual camp events, not worksheets.
Expedition days
Full-day paddles, the Ridge Trail hike and the high ropes course, led by certified guides with teens navigating.
Talent showcase
Teens produce the end-of-summer talent night — auditions, staging, lights and hosting. The whole camp attends.
Thursday overnight
Tents, trail cooking and stargazing on the far shore. Teens plan the menu, pack the gear and lead the paddle across.
A typical teen day
- Flag raising and crew assignments at the pine circle.
- Leadership workshop: this week's skill is event planning.
- Expedition block — paddling, ropes or trail, by rotation.
- Lunch at the lodge, then mentoring hour with junior circles.
- Showcase rehearsal or service project around camp.
- Free swim, then closing circle and shout-outs.
Teen questions
Is the overnight supervised? +
Always. Two certified guides and two counselors stay with the group, with a safety boat on the water and the nurse on call from base camp.
Do teens earn the service hours for school? +
Yes — forty verified hours per two-week session, with a signed letter describing the projects your teen led.
What should teens bring? +
Swimsuit, towel, closed shoes, a rain layer and a water bottle. We provide paddling gear, ropes equipment and overnight kit.
