Family campfire night
Songs, s'mores
& summer stars
On the last Saturday of July the whole camp gathers on the main lawn — campers, parents, grandparents and neighbors. Counselors lead the songbook, the kitchen runs the s'mores line, and the evening ends with telescope stargazing.
Visiting families sit with a host circle, so you'll know names within minutes. It's the single best evening to decide whether Bramblewood is your camp. Admission is free; blankets are on you.
How the evening runs
- Fire lighting and the welcome song — find your host circle on the lawn.
- Camper skits: each age group performs its Friday piece for families.
- S'mores line opens; song requests from the crowd.
- Lights down for stargazing with two telescopes and a sky guide.
- Closing song and lantern walk back to the gate.
Good to know
What should we bring? +
Blankets or camp chairs, warm layers for after sunset and a flashlight for the lantern walk. We provide the s'mores, the songs and the telescopes.
Can we come if we're not enrolled? +
Please do — campfire night is our open house. Host circles pair you with enrolled families, and staff answer enrollment questions by the fire.
What about bad weather? +
Light rain moves us into the lodge with the same program. A real storm postpones to Sunday — check this page Saturday noon for the call.
